Making a Splash!

Ahoy, fellow Bernie enthusiasts! Dive in with me as I recall the day Bernie went from being a beach bum to an aspiring Michael Phelps!

I remember the sun casting a golden hue over the calm lake waters. We had enjoyed many trips to the beach, but Bernie seemed more inclined to sunbathe than splash. However, this day was different. As I sat at the edge of the dock, my feet playfully disturbing the glassy water, something magical happened.

The gentle ripples from my feet-kicking suddenly grabbed Bernie’s attention. Before I knew it, my four-legged buddy was leaping off the shore, transforming from a timid toe-dipper to a full-fledged swimmer, headed straight for me. That single leap was the inception of his profound love affair with water.

Summers now have a new tradition. On warm afternoons, our shadows grow long as we walk to the beach. Bernie’s ears perk up at the sight of the familiar dock, his tail wagging in double-time. I arm myself with a stick, and we play an endless game of fetch - every leap into the water showcasing his newfound confidence. Bernie’s proud prance, stick in mouth, is testimony to his joy and the skills he’s honed.

It's heartwarming to watch Bernie enjoy these simple pleasures of life, a reminder of the magic that love and a second chance can create. Adopting a rescue like Bernie isn’t just about saving a dog; it's about rediscovering life’s adventures together. Each splash, each stick fetched, each joyous wag is a testament to the love and spirit of rescue pups.
