Meet Tango: Bernie’s new best friend and puppy sensei
Hello again, fellow Bernie enthusiasts! This blog post is dedicated to a very special guest star in our lives: Tango, Bernie's older, wiser, and incredibly patient cousin.
Just look at the attached photo. There they are, our handsome pair of rescue dogs, Tango sitting tall and dignified, and Bernie sprawled comfortably, his droopy ears perked up in interest. Tango's upright, alert ears and Bernie's relaxed pose paint a picture of a perfect doggy duo - one guiding, the other eager to learn.
Tango, already a distinguished gentleman at three years old, took it upon himself to become Bernie's mentor. Like a seasoned teacher dealing with an overexcited, curious pupil, Tango showed exceptional patience and understanding. His stern yet gentle demeanor was just what our boisterous puppy needed to acclimate to his new environment.
Young Bernie, like any puppy, was always ready for a romp and a chew - with Tango often being his chew toy of choice! Tango, however, was quick to teach Bernie the doggy etiquette of knowing when playtime is over. It was a sight to behold, the communication between these two, their unspoken understanding as clear as a sunny day.
In no time at all, it was evident that Bernie and Tango were shaping up to be the best of friends. Their camaraderie brought an added layer of warmth and joy to our home, not to mention a much-appreciated break for me as Tango stepped up to keep Bernie's boundless energy in check.
Tango's calming presence was a blessing during Bernie's initial months with us. It felt like having a seasoned guide who not only helped Bernie navigate the human world but also offered him companionship of his kind. Tango's visit ended eventually, and he returned to his home with my son, but not without leaving a lasting impact on Bernie and us.
Our home seemed a little quieter after Tango left. Bernie's gaze would often linger on the front door, his droopy ears perking up at any sound that remotely resembled Tango. Their bond remained strong and their reunion, planned for Christmas, was eagerly anticipated by all of us.
Our next story will capture a playful moment featuring Bernie, a chunky tug rope, and his favorite game. You won't want to miss it! Until then, keep your paws up, and your tails wagging!
